DXN to build modular data centres for Boeing Defence Australia and Covalent Lithium

DXN Limited will build modular data centres for Boeing Defence Australia and Covalent Lithium.

Its contract with Boeing's Australian subsidiary is worth AU$700,000 (US$531,000), while its deal with the Mount Holland Lithium Project is worth AU$325,000 (US$248,000).


In addition to building modular facilities on demand, DXN operates a number of carrier-neutral Edge data centres across Australia and New Zealand.



Meridiam invests $48m in Raxio for African data centre expansion

African data centre company Raxio is partnering with asset and fund manager Meridiam to build several facilities across the African continent.

Meridiam will invest $48 million in Raxio to help it expand in regions both companies already have a foothold in.


Meridiam has already invested more than $4.7 billion into African infrastructure, including 4 solar power plants in Senegal, a geothermal power plant in Ethiopia, a hydropower plan in Gabon, a biomass site in Côte d'Ivoire, and solar home systems in West Africa.



IXAfrica begins constructing hyperscale data centre campus in Nairobi

IXAfrica, the new-entrant data centre operator in Kenya, recently announced the start of its investment in Kenya's digital economy, and has begun constructing a data centre campus in Nairobi.


IXAfrica data centres are designed for modern high-load servers and infrastructure for ultra-dense computing in accordance with the latest global standards. The company plans to include several green initiatives as well as energy-efficient solutions.

The company plans to build out the campus to 42.5MW of IT load in the coming years, developing on adjacent plots to the 183,000 sqf site.



EdgeConneX expands into Spain with plans for Edge data centre in Barcelona

EdgeConneX has broken ground on a new Edge data centre facility in the Sant Boi de Llobregat region of Spain.

The new 7,600 sq m (81,800 sq ft), 8.4MW carrier-neutral facility known as EDCBCN01 is located just from Barcelona city centre and scheduled to go live at the end of 2021. It will have two data halls of 1,700 sq m each.


EdgeConneX says it will be a carbon neutral facility employing renewable energy but doesn’t provide details.
