DataBank to open fourth data centre in Minnesota
DataBank has announced the opening of a new data centre in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The company this week announced the opening of the 86,000 sq ft (8,00 sqm) carrier-neutral MSP3 data centre located in Brooklyn Park, to the north of the city.
Construction work on the facility began in November 2020.
The Tier III-designed facility provides 1.5MW of critical load power capacity and can scale to 3MW in the first data hall, with a total of 9MW of critical IT load across three data halls.

German cloud firm Hetzner expands into US
German hosting and data center firm Hetzner has expanded in the US, but instead of opening a data centre of its own there, it is offering cloud services from a colo facility in Northern Virginia.
The company this week announced it is now offering its Hetzner Cloud from servers in Ashburn, Virgina, the company’s first location outside of Europe.
Hetzner offers cloud, web hosting, and colocation services. The company is not currently offering colocation in the US. Hetzner operates two data centre campuses in Germany, in Nuremberg and Falkenstein.

Yondr announces 100MW data centre campus in Slough, UK
Yondr has officially announced plans to develop a UK hyperscale data centre campus in Slough, outside of London.
The initial phase will see the development of a 30MW facility, which is expected to be ready for service by the first quarter of 2023. The data centre campus will have a total capacity of 100MW when fully developed.

AirTrunk announces 320MW hyperscale data centre in Sydney
AirTrunk today announced plans to build a new data centre in Sydney that at 320MW, will be the largest single hyperscale campus in the Asia Pacific (APAC) outside of China when fully operational.
The new SYD3 data centre will be located in western Sydney, less than a kilometer from AirTrunk’s first SYD1 hyperscale facility, and will offer over 450MW in total.
