Data Center First to build 30MW data centre in Batam, Indonesia

Singapore-based Data Center First has detailed its first data centre, which is to be located in Batam, Indonesia.


Phase one of the Nongsa One DC campus will see a 30MW facility built and completed by the end of 2023, with the company reportedly investing $40 million into the project.

The campus sits on 276,600 sq ft of land and the company has secured electricity supply from two independent PLN substations, with enough energy secured for a second building.



Echelon Data Centres announces second UK data centre project

Ireland’s Echelon Data Centres has partnered with Starwood to develop a second UK data centre.


The company this week announced a $250 million agreement with an affiliate of Starwood Capital Group to jointly acquire and construct a 30MW data centre in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.

The two-story facility will reportedly consist of six data halls totalling around 97,000 sq ft. The company said the site will be delivered by late 2022.


Digital Edge announces opening date for data centre in Osaka, Japan

Digital Edge is close to completing its first self-build data centre, in Osaka, Japan.


The 14MW construction is on schedule to be completed by the end of 2021 and will become fully operational on January 4, 2022.


DCI Data Centers to build 10MW facility in Darwin, Australia

Australian data centre firm DCI is to build an Edge facility in Darwin, Australia.

The company said this week it has secured land in the Northern Territory to build a 10MW facility known as DRW01.

DCI has secured a 2.7-hectare site in Darwin Technology Park, and has the option to expand up to 5 hectares in the future.
