Africa Data Centres opens new Johannesburg data centre
Africa Data Centres has completed its new Johannesburg data centre in South Africa.
The 10MW facility sits on the pan-African firm’s Midrand campus and adds four data halls with 6,000 sq m (64,500 sq ft) of white space. The total campus at full build out will have eight data halls comprising 9,000 sq m (96,900 sq ft) and 20MW of capacity.

Sify plans to build 200MW of data centres in India over next four years
Indian ISP Sify Technologies plans to more than double its data centre footprint in the country over the next few years.
The Nasdaq-listed company said it plans to add 200MW in the next 4 years. It plans to build a combination of hyperscale and retail facilities in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru.

Orange inaugurates new data centre in Santander, Spain
The European telco’s new €4 million ($4.7m) facility measures 1,236 square meters (13,300 sq ft) and is located in the Candina Industrial Park the northern Cantabria region of the country. The facility was inaugurated by the mayor of Santander, Gema Igual Ortiz.

Proximity DC acquires data centre in Swindon, UK
The company said the 89,000 sq ft (8,200 sqm) data centre – located in southwest England and now named Proximity Edge7 – provides space for up to 2,000 racks and has 7MW of capacity currently available, with the potential to increase to 14MW.
The facility is located at 11C Broadmoor Road South and was previously operated by Capgemini as its Merlin Swindondata center.
