Amazon plans more than 1 million sq ft of data centres in Manassas, Virginia
Amazon has filed an application to build four data centres on a currently empty plot of land in Manassas, Virginia.
Set across three joining plots, the 80-acre property sits between Ashton Avenue and Sudley Road and next to Manassas mall in Prince William County.
The company is proposing to build four two-story data centres and a substation on the site. Each building would have a total floor space of 256,500 sq ft (23,800 sqm).

SafeHost to extend SH2 data centre in Gland, Switzerland
Swiss colocation provider SafeHost is extending its SH2 data centre in Gland, Switzerland.
SafeHost has contracted Webuild Group, through its subsidiary CSC Costruzioni SA, to build an additional 18MW of capacity at the facility, located between Lausanne and Geneva.
SafeHost currently has three data centres around the Geneva area, with a fourth, SH4, currently being built in Rafz outside Zurich.

Princeton Digital Group announces $1bn hyperscale campus in Japan
Singapore-based Princeton Digital Group (PDG), is building a hyperscale campus in Tokyo with a total investment value of $1 billion.
The 33,000 sq m (eight acres) site is in Saitama City, a commercial centre 30km north of central Tokyo.
The 100MW campus will be built in two phases of 48.5MW each.

Digital Crossroad receives $28 million to expand Indiana data centre
Sustainable energy investment and development firm Energy Solutions Group and United Leasing and Finance are investing $28 million to expand Digital Crossroad’s Indiana data centre.
The money will be used to expand the recently constructed data centre in Hammond, Indiana.
Construction on the first 6MW phase of the 105,000 sq ft (9,700 sqm) DX-1 building finished last year. The investment will allow work to continue on the next phase to expand the facility to meet demand.
