Digital Realty opens new data centre in Toronto, Canada
Digital Realty has opened a new data centre in Toronto, Canada.
The company’s new YYZ12 data centre on 151 Front St. is its third data centre in Greater Toronto, and will be fully interconnected with redundant dark fiber paths to its TOR1 data centre in Vaughan.
Digital Reality is offering 800kW and 6,900 sq ft of colocation space at the facility.
Yondr plans two data centres in Slough, UK
Two data centres are set to be built in Slough by hyperscale developer Yondr.
Last month, the company applied to build the facilities on the site of the former Uxbridge Road Gas Works and disused Akzo Nobel paint factory.
Since January 2021, the company has been in design and planning consultation, entering into a planning period in April and hoping to start work on the site in June.
The first phase of the 30MW facility is expected to be operational by January 2023.
Iron Mountain announces 27MW London data centre
Iron Mountain has announced plans for a 27MW data centre in Slough, UK.
It will have 25,000 sq m (270,000 sq ft) of space and a capacity of 27MW at full build. No date for completion has been announced.
The facility will be aimed at hyperscale (wholesale) and enterprise (retail) customers, offering multiple options, including disaster recovery and consolidation.
Equinix to open $142m Silicon Valley data centre
Equinix will open a new data centre at its Silicon Valley campus on June 30.
In its first phase, SV11 will offer 61,000 square feet (5,667 sq m) of colocation space - enough room for 1,450 cabinets. At full build, there will have capacity for 2,950 cabinets.
Adjacent to SV1, SV5, and SV10, it has cross-connectivity to the other San Jose facilities. Across the whole Silicon Valley region, the company operates fourteen data centres.
