CDE Configuration

A Common Data Environment (CDE) is a necessity for any construction project. Project information needs to be uploaded and shared with the project team effectively in order to ensure successful delivery. Purchasing a CDE isn't the complete answer. The system must be configured according to the project requirements with regard to workflows and file naming conventions. Ensuring that all of the necessary supplychain and associated workers are added to the CDE allows information to flow effortlessly.
How do we do it?
A CDE, as the name suggests, is a location common to all of the stakeholders of the project where data is stored and shared.

The configuation of a CDE is one of the most important, but often overlooked, items that must be completed at the outset of a project. Utilising the full feature set of the CDE can return huge time savings over the course of a project. Workflows can be arranged so the opportunity for bottlenecks is removed. Parallel approval processes can be added to increase efficiency and mitigate the risk of delay. A well structured information management system empowers the workforce to find the answers that they are looking for as the use of meta data tags organises the information in an easy to navigate manner.
